Welcome to Hand Me Down Dobes!
Thank you for considering adopting from Hand Me Down Dobes. One of the oldest and largest Doberman rescues in Ohio, we also serve parts of Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. We have a very high adoption success rate, placing well over 1,000 Dobes into loving, forever homes. HMDD is proudly affiliated with the Doberman Pinscher Club of America and abides by their code of ethics.
The Doberman is intelligent and eager to please, making a loyal and devoted pet. When young, most are energetic and playful needing consistent exercise and attention. If you have never had a Doberman, please take some time to understand the breed.
If you are not ready to adopt but want to help, please consider fostering. HMDD rescues homeless and unwanted Dobes and places them into caring foster homes. This allows the dog to regain it's health, trust and confidence after the stressful experience of being abandoned. The more foster homes HMDD has, the more Dobes we can save!
Five year old Pippa is a sweet and affectionate companion dog that will make a wonderful addition to a loving home.
Pippa is a proper lady with a gorgeous mahogany red coat.

Raven is Rescued, Safe at Last!
Great news! Raven's leg is healing nicely as she continues to convalesce in her foster home. She's sporting a new pink cast as only a princess color would do! She was quite the popular girl while at the vet's, not only getting her new cast, but also being showered with attention. She's getting along fine with the new cast and doesn't show any signs of discomfort. Raven is becoming more energetic every day, playing with the other dog in her foster home, and is quite the love bug when she can sit still long enough! We're so happy to report this good news, and we'll update you as we get a better idea of her temperament and personality. Thanks to all for your continued support of this sweetie!

Hand Me Down Dobes, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers committed to saving homeless Dobermans and placing them into suitable, loving homes. Many have been abandoned or abused, and need a tremendous amount of care and rehabilitation. This is made possible through the generosity of private donations, sponsorships and grants. We also work to educate the public about Dobermans and responsible, humane pet care, which includes spaying and neutering, training, and how to choose a pet to fit your particular lifestyle.
